After mechanical installation of the casting equipment, the casting phase of commissioning takes place with the supervision of a Wagstaff technical specialist. During commissioning, a Wagstaff technical specialist is at the customer’s site to evaluate readiness for casting, and is available to casting personnel and management for technical guidance and training, typically for a period of five days per system purchased.
During the on-site casting start-up period, the Wagstaff technical specialist will work with the casting crew to perform “dry runs” – practice casts to verify the equipment meets operational expectations and to prepare the casting crew for production. The casting station is prepared for hot metal according to site conditions and specifications for cast billet or ingot.
Operators are trained in equipment operations, safety, troubleshooting, cast analysis, and procedure documentation of Wagstaff casting equipment.
In large-scale projects, Wagstaff site coordinator services are recommended to help direct the preparation of green-site projects and to ensure the facility’s installation schedule is going to plan. The site coordinator communicates frequently with customer management concerning construction progress updates and consultation.
